Change Your Own Door Lock

A Rekeying Kit Featuring Precut Keys

CHANGE-A-LOCK®  A Division of Topper Hardware, Inc. has 11 do-it-yourself rekeying kits on the market. A total of 19 different major manufacturer type locks can be rekeyed. The rekey kit will rekey 6 single cylinder locks and comes with 2 pre-cut keys, detailed instructions and all the spectial tools except for a common screwdriver. Each lock you put a key in is a single cylinder. A deadbolt keyed on both sides would count as 2 single cylinder locks.

In business since 1978, our unique products are the best do-it-yourself rekeying kits on the market. They are $12.95 each, and come with all the special rekeying tools. A common screwdriver may be needed to remove the old door lock.

Old key is needed to take out lock cylinder plug then new key is used to rekey lock. CHANGE-A-LOCK® rekey kits can not be used with old key to rekey other locks for the color coded pins match the new key cut. Each rekeying kit has easy-to-follow instructions and precut keys, and is specifically designed for a certain lock type. They will not fit any other manufacturer's lock types. Customers with more than 6 single cylinder locks may, at time of ordering, add additional pin sets and/or precut keys which will match the kit ordered.

If you order 2 or more rekey kits and wish to have them keyed the same please email us at david@changealock.com immediately after placing your order. We can not match manufacturer's original key code with pins or keys.

NOTE: BALDWIN®, EMTEK®, & PEGASUS® LOCKS must have the Schlage KEY compatible cylinder AND YALE LOCKS must have the KWIKSET KEY compatible cylinder for rekey kit to work!

NOTE: WEISER "ELEMENT" LOCKS order the KWIKSET 5 pin rekey kit for the ELEMENT takes apart the same as the KWIKSET LOCK.

ALERT: 6 PIN CYLINDER   Schlage®, Baldwin®, Emtek®, & Pegasus®   5-pin cylinder locks often come with a 6-pin key cylinder. The 6-pin key cylinder only has bottom pins in the first 5-pin holes, with the 6th. pin hole position being empty.

When you insert the key from the CHANGE-A-LOCK® rekey kit into the 6-pin key cylinder, and using the special instructional sheet to replace the bottom pins, the last hole after the tip of the key is the 6th. pin hole position.

Therefore, the 6th. pin hole position is not used when rekeying.
